FAQ
Well that's just it, we don't focus on the environments that most of the bespoke security product manufacturers cater to, like government buildings or other threat sensitive institutional locations. Our goal was to bring a security door to the general public that is a known quantity with reasonable costs and simple order procedures. There are dozens of companies that provide highly secure doors that meet the SD-STD-01.01 forced entry standard, but if you've ever worked with the government contractor types...well then you know, it's probably not a path you'd like to go down for a residential build.
Doors are big and heavy, so they must be shipped via freight channels which invariably takes much longer than a standard package. In addition, we do not warehouse our products in the US because we are a global manufacturer that services over 50 countries. It makes more sense for us to ship from a centralized warehouse and offer these products to our US customers.
We do not test for every certification relevant to the areas in which the products are available. However, the doors are steel, reinforced, insulated, locked in multiple points and come with a full lipped weather seal around the frame. If this isn't capable of withstanding hurricane force winds and flying debris, we are not sure what would. If there is a large enough market specific to hurricane prone regions then we will consider getting the specific certifications needed but at this time, the doors are not yet rated in this category.
Currently, our doors are not suitable for apartments. Regulations for multi-occupancy buildings require fire-rated doors, and while our doors contain fire-resistant materials, they haven't been certified in the US for such use. We don't plan to certify them for commercial tenders unless there's a bulk need for both security and fire-rated doors.
